The 5-Minute Reset You Can Do Anywhere
There is a strange idea that calm requires a spa day, a silent retreat, or at least a long afternoon with nothing scheduled. But most of us don't have that. What we do have are five minutes between meetings, five minutes in the car, five minutes before the house wakes up.
Step 1: Find stillness
You don't need to sit cross-legged. You don't need a cushion. You just need to stop moving for a moment. Let your body land. Feel your feet against the floor, your back against the chair, your hands resting somewhere.
Step 2: Breathe slowly
Inhale for four counts. Exhale for six. Do that four times. The longer exhale signals to your nervous system that the danger has passed.
Step 3: Name one thing
Ask yourself: what is one small thing I can do next? Not the whole list. Just one thing. Then do it. Momentum is the antidote to overwhelm.
That is the reset. It is not dramatic. It is not Instagrammable. But it works because it is yours, and it is always available.
